Strong communication across departments and teams is vital for advancing both company culture and strategy. What is the most valuable communication lesson you’ve learned and why was it so impactful?
Owning an apparel brand, I have found effective communication is KEY in a world where competition is fierce and deadlines are demanding. The three rules I try to adhere to in my own business, are making sure that communication is always quick, honest, and kind. Over the years we’ve lost or saved customers, deals, and employees based on how fast or slow they were responded to, how honest we were or were not about deliveries, quality, and advancement, and how kind we were or were not in regards to expectations, setbacks, and disappointments. This type of communication is not for the faint, it requires courage and takes years of practice, however, I’ve found it to be the most effective and appreciated form of engagement not just in the business world, but in all human interactions.
